2013 Summer CSA Shares

Vermont Photographer Seth Butler

The time is now, to begin signing up for 2013 Summer CSA shares.

For those of you planning to join us for another season of nourishing vegetables and festivities, please send along your $50 deposits to reserve your shares. Folks in a position of being able to pay the full amount of a share now, are encouraged to do so, as we are in our financially lean months, and the costs of production are chiming away. As always, we’re open to payment plans. The cost of a share for at least 20 weeks of vegetables including all the You-Pick offerings is the same as last year: a sliding scale of $400-$650. Pay what you may.

Sign Up Today!

Mail a $50 deposit or your whole payment to:

Our Story

For five years we’ve scrambled from field to field, seeking fertility from which to grow food for the community. It has been difficult to consider the future of the land base we tend, for the void of the unknown has loomed over us. We’ve been blessed beyond measure, however, by continual access to land in the old Gambel district between Barnard and East Barnard; at about 1700 feet, we’ve been farming sky high in the hills of this sacred region of town. Yes, we’ve been learning what it takes to grow food for the community with ingenuity and thrift. But as we remain in this land and community, it no longer serves us to take each year as it comes, getting by on a shoestring. As our roots grow deeper in the Gambel Valley, our responsibility becomes clearer: to serve this land and it’s legacy in the image of Itself. To facilitate the availability of nutrients that lie latent in the soil, and to recharge the soil with life, by awakening it’s inherent microbiology. We’ve done our best to maintain the soil we’ve tended thus far by rotating crops, cover cropping and manuring. But as our access to land embraces longevity, and our intention and understanding continues to refine, a more holistic approach to fertility planning becomes possible and necessary. And as our farm becomes more whole, it grows beyond us, into the hands and hearts of neighboring farmers and we hope the community at large.
